“Silently and serenely, forgetting all words, clearly and vividly, it appears before you.”
“Silent” means the stillness of the mind, and “illumination” means the clarity of the mind. During this retreat, Venerable will guide us on how to practice Silent Illumination, starting with foundational methods to stabilize the mind, allowing us to gradually enter into what is known as the “method of no method”. By practicing deeper and deeper, our mind will become quieter and clearer, and we will gradually be able to leave behind self-clinging and illuminate our mind.
The daily schedule includes periods of sitting and walking meditation, dharma talks, and personal interviews with the venerable if needed. Silence is observed throughout the whole retreat.
* Vegetarian lunch will be served.
【Prerequisite】
- Anyone who has taken the Beginner’s Meditation Workshop / Intro to Basic Meditation or has previous experience in Chan/Zen practice is welcome to join.
- Fee: Free. Your kind giving to support the event is much appreciated.

「默默」是心念的寂靜,「昭昭」是心地的明淨。這次默照禪三,果廣法師將會教導禪眾默照的修行觀念和方法,從基本的安心開始,逐漸進入「默照-無法之法」。透過越來越深入的修行,心會變得越來越寧靜、明朗,逐漸能夠放下我執,照亮自己的心。
